My account timeline report I created back in 2018, has since through a lot of iterations. And here is another one! I have seen it being implemented in many environments and that brings me a lot of joy. Not so long ago, I got the question of whether or not it was possible to add appointments. Whether it was possible to create a more complete account timeline.
Account Timeline v 2.0
Adding appointments did add a lot of data to the timeline and can easily hide any other type of information as there are usually so many more appointments than leads, opportunities, SR’s, … For this reason, I added a filter on top to allow you to choose which types of information should be shown.
The timeline now shows the following events:
- Open opportunities by creation date with their current sales stage
- Won, lost, and abandoned opportunities with their win/loss reason
- Unresolved service requests by their creation date, with their current status
- Qualified leads that are waiting to be converted, showing their potential revenue
- Unqualified leads waiting to be qualified
- Past appointments with their outcome
I also made sure that when double-clicking on the events, they now open up with workspace in the background.
Let me know what you think !
PS: as usual with my reusable report, they are not official software, just my creations!
Installing the Account Timeline
Although this account timeline report is a report, it is actually wrapped inside a dashboard. This allows the dashboard prompts to be shown on top of the timeline. You can download the dashboard here
A video on how to upload this report can be found here.
1. Enable an analytics subtab on the account detail page
From within a sandbox, using App Composer, an admin can an analytics page on the account detail page.
2. Add the dashboard to the new analytics subtab
On this now visible homepage sales page, an admin can use the Page Composer tool to embed the account timeline.
3. Send the current Account ID as a parameter to the dashboard
For the report to show only events related to the current account, the “Account ID” from the CX Sales account detail page needs to be passed to the report. This is done by sending a parameter to the embedded dashboard. Click on ‘parameters’ as shown in the image above and enter the following value under ‘Value 1’: #{sessionScope.zcmAnalyticsCustomerId}

Hi Edward, long time no talk. I’m interested in your “Complete Account Timeline v1.0.5” Analysis and dashboard. However when unarchiving it, its the dashboard with a report and prompt that are not included in the .catalog file. I would love to see your work of art. Any chance the report and prompt can be included? Thank you! Kent Stromberg

Kent, the dashboard page functions as a directory folder also, and the dashboard prompt and the report should be inside the dashboard page folder

They are inside the dashboard, as the dashboard also acts as a folder
