Having a Sales Cloud solution to manage your accounts and contacts is a big step in streamlining a sales organization. Especially as it is supported with all the customer data management and data quality tools that come with Sales Cloud. But did you ever think about a strategy to keep you data complete, accurate and up to date? That is what Oracle Data Cloud for Sales can do for you !
Oracle Data Cloud for Sales
Oracle has partnered up with Dun&Bradstreet (for account and contact data) and GBG Locate (for address information) to give you the option to validate and enrich your accounts and contacts.
Once added Oracle Data Cloud for Sales to your Sales Cloud instance, it could not be easier to use. Let me describe this from 2 perspectives:
- A salesrep who uses it maybe a couple of times a week
- A data steward who tries to build a career on keeping account and contact data deduped, validated and as up to date as possible
From a salesrep perspective
Let me show you how a salesrep using Oracle Sales Cloud can benefit from Oracle Data-as-a-Service for Sales in his daily work by walking through the creation process of an account or contact, starting with minimal data and ending up with a completely detailed profile with just a few clicks.
Imagine you create a new account. You do not know the exact official account name and do not have all address details, but you create it anyway.
Based on the little address details that were available, Oracle Data Cloud allows you to verify the address and convert it into a uniform format. validating an address only means it is an actual address, it is no guarantee yet this is the actual address of the account though.
Before creating the new account though, Sales Cloud will off course first verify if a similar account did not already exists. Although a few similar accounts seem to be available, let us choose to ‘Continue with Create’ in order to have a new account to demonstrate the enrichment process.
So a new account was created with what is possibly the correct account name, a validated and possible correct address and absolutely no other account details available in Sales Cloud. Although not a lot, it is enough to start the enrichment process.
Oracle Sales Cloud will propose a number of possible matching accounts from Oracle Data Cloud and allows us to choose the values from Data Cloud we want to add to the Sales Cloud account. Up to 150 attributes are available to populate the account profile. There is even a possibility to populate then entire account hierarchy for each account, but I am not interested in thousands of coffee shops in my Sales Cloud instance 🙂
Notice how after the enrichment, the account name has been corrected, the account details have been added and a number or addresses were added to complete the account profile.
This in itself is already valuable, but Oracle Data Cloud for Sales has more to offer. Once an account has been enriched (and only then), an extra option to add contact from data Cloud becomes available on the account contact page.
When adding contacts to an account, they can be segmented in multiple ways to isolate those contact you are interested into adding to Sales Cloud. They can be segmented by job function …
… by job title, location or by organization level.
Notice how for every segment an indication of how many contacts in the segments are available. Once you have selected a segment, you can initiate the contact enrichment process in which up to 125 contact attributes and social handles if available can be added to the contact profiles …
… but I will not share the results as I do not want to get in trouble of sharing contact details of a group of executives I do not know 🙂 I hope you understand 🙂 But the result obviously is what you would expect: a list of contacts related to the account copied into Sales Cloud available to anyone working with the account.
From a data steward perspective
For data stewards, we have similar capabilities but instead of enriching account per account, they can process batches of accounts to be enriched. Additionally, data stewards can connect to the Oracle Data Cloud portal and not only enrich but also upload entire batches of previously unknown customers into Sales Cloud.
How amazing is this !
